Our Mission
Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. and it’s members are dedicated to improving the local and global community through advocacy and service. The primary service area of Pearls of Service Foundation Inc. will be those communities based in Harlem and the Lower East side of Manhattan in New York City.
Realizing that there is a growing need for our youth to engage in educational programming that build a strong foundation to achieve personal success, Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. seeks to ensure that minority children, especially girls, have access to opportunities to succeed and to become productive members of their community.
Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. maintains a progressive interest in college life by sponsoring three annual undergraduate scholarships benefitting college-bound minority students. The first of which specifically benefits students who choose to attend an HBCU (Historically Black College and University). Additionally, its scholarship program includes the Jimmia Joy Blakely- Woodyard memorial graduate scholarship aimed at students pursuing a career in health care and the Ruth C. Tudos scholarship that empowers a student returning to school after being in the workforce. Additionally, the foundation awards the Dr. Virginia L. Flintall scholarship that aids to sustain enrollment for four years with the future goal to achieve a graduate degree in the educational and/or behavioral sciences.
Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. is committed to its work to provide educational opportunities for aspiring students and with the help of community partners and sponsors, POSF continues offer hope to deserving young people.
